Devon Modell is all set to take part in the first race of the Creventic 24H Touring Car Endurance Series powered by Hankook, the 24H of Silverstone (31 March – 2 April, 2017) with OCC Racing with Newbridge. Modell will race alongside car-owner Dr. Fareed Ali and three other drivers in the #249 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.
The British driver is also no stranger to the series, having wrapped up the SP3 class title in 2015 and so far this year he has enjoyed a varied campaign; making his LMP3 debut in Malaysia in January in the Asian Le Mans Series and last weekend, competing in Super Trofeo for the first time with FFF Racing by ACM.
Naturally he is looking forward to the next challenge at Silverstone. “The car will be similar to the Britcar GT4 Aston I’ve raced before in terms of lap time,” Modell stated. “I’m really looking forward to it, but I bet it will be cold, wet and windy being Silverstone!
“It’s a good opportunity for me and I’m a big fan of the championship as it is serious but also very approachable and fan-friendly. I’m looking forward to racing with my four team-mates – I can’t say who they are yet, but I know it will be a strong line-up – and it will be good to be competing in SP3-GT4 as we aim to be towards the sharp end of the field.”
The 24H Silverstone gets underway at 16.00 local time on Saturday 1 April.
